Kenya

The Kenya project is a partnership between EWB-UConn and the community of Gambella.

The issue they are facing is water supply: they do not have enough water to keep up with their domestic and agricultural needs. Our job is to assess the situation and come up with a way to solve this problem, such as drilling a new well and installing a solar pump that connects to their concrete storage tank.

Currently, we are working with our team consisting of UConn students, professional engineers, and contacts from GHNI throughout Kenya and Africa. We are working on assessing the data we have concerning the hydrogeologic conditions of Gambella, and hope to begin implementing a solution in our coming winter and summer trips. We’re always happy to grow our team and welcome new members!
